New member here (NW Indiana). Spent 30+ years working in the automotive aftermarket (purchasing and marketing with JC Whitney). I have a 2003 LS V-8 purchased new that has spent the past 6-years in Phoenix, AZ. Although the hot, dry climate has been kind to the body, underhood and undercarriage (they look new), the heat causes anything made of plastic/nylon to become brittle and break prematurely. Thus, I have replaced all four window regulators and now require the locking mechanisms for both rear doors (they use a nylon gear/cable drive system). I've taken the door(s) apart and removed the lock(s) to diagnose/confirm the problem. The motor cycles but the cable mechanism does not move. I can hear the motor run and see the nylon gear attached to the motor is spinning. Unfortunately the dealer would like to get $178+ each. Rather than eBay (used), I know some of these automotive forums have members with connections to get OE parts at a discount. Any help would be appreciated.
Thank You

Door lock actuator or window regulator? The window regulator can be had at NAPA or RockAuto.

He seems to be looking for the door lock actuators, since he's already replaced all four
window regulators.
Door lock actuators seem to be an OEM item only, and many forum members here like to purchase
OEM parts at Tasca Ford....I believe.

In that case...... Good luck. If they can be had they will want your first born for one!!

Since we're on the subject LS4, sometimes, many companies in cost cutting measures, use parts from other
models for the same function. In other words, are the door lock actuators on the LS, the same as an other
Lincoln product, or, is it an exclusive LS model item ?
I'm sure this has been discussed in the past, but from all the searches I have come up with, I've never came across
this discussion.

LOL, reading myself over, I'm sure I've answered my own question...

You'd have better luck finding parts from Jaguar for the LS. (In either case, they're from the same source.)

The LS is a different animal from the rest of the Ford/Lincoln line-up. Like Joe said; I would try the S-Type part..... As long as I could return it. Try cross referencing the Jag p/n with the Lincoln p/n. You could try an actuator from a junk yard just to see if it will work.

I have had to change out my LR door lock actuator twice in the last year. Picked them up at a U-Pull yard for $6.00 a piece. At that price I can put in a lot of actuators over time if I need to. Junk yards might be the place to look.
