I have a 2003 LS V8 with 110K miles. I've started to notice a slight rattling noise from my engine. It's present all the time - at idle, when driving, hot or cold makes no difference. It isn't near as bad or really sound like the rattling chain sound that some of the YouTube videos show, it more like my car sounds like a diesel.
From what I understand, the secondary timing chain tensioners were improved in the second gen LS, but I'm wondering if that is still what it is. Does anybody have any insight into why my LS sounds (almost) like a Cummins Diesel?
