Hi,

2004 Lincoln LSE w/ THX nav system.

My rear speakers are blow. I like semi loud music so I blew em and need something along the same lines but a bit more powerful.

I noticed that there is a small amp in the trunk. Can I connect a speaker box and amp easily through this system without wiring anything into the radio? Just asking to see if I can do it myself befre taking it in.

Thanks!

If you have THX nav, there are two amps in the trunk.

The one under the package shelf is a mono amp for the two sub-woofers mounted to the package shelf. Note that they are sub-woofers, not full range speakers.

On the left (driver's) side of the trunk behind the trim is a four channel amp that powers the eight door speakers.

more than likely, most "speaker boxes" will need more power than the amp that is in the car, and if you want something "a bit more powerful" then you will need a bigger amp to get that more power.
