My 2004 LS is doing some strange things.

1. When the headlights are set to "auto" --- they are staying on no matter if the car is directly in the sunlight or not. They still cut off on their own once the key has been taken from the ignition --- but the headlights are just staying on all of the time. I have checked to make sure that the sensor thingy on the dash is clear and clean.

If the sensor is going bad --- how in the world would you get to it to replace it?

2. When I enter the numerical code using the keypad on the drivers door --- it is changing the seat and side mirror positions. I have been using the same code since I bought the car --- and only until recently has it started moving things when I enter the code to get in the car.

Thanks for your help!!

1. It's actually pretty easy to change. Pull the A-pillars off and then pull up the defrost grill panel.

2. That's new to me. I didn't think you could associate a memory position with a particular code. Do you have memory positions associated with your remotes? Are you using a personal code or the factory code?

The personal code can be matched to a memory. It's (kind of) buried in the OM.

I tried clicking on the link -- but it took me nowhere.

What do you mean by A-pillars?

The link in my original post still works for me...
A-pillars: When you sit in the driver's seat and look forward, to your left, above the dash and between the windshield and the door is the right A-pillar. Remove the door gasket (just pulls off) and then remove that trim piece (just pulls off). Repeat for the passenger side.
