How much should an engine swap for a 2005 Lincoln LS 3.0L V6 cost? I found an engine for $700 and mechanic estimated $1200 in labor. Is this about right?

Wow, seems like the LS is getting more prone to engine failures now a days. Thats the second time this week someone posted another blown engine post. What was the original engine's problem?

$1200 is a bit steep, over here shops do it for around $800-$900.

its nothing wrong with the engines,they are just all getting old and tired... by now most LSs out there have been through multiple owners, less that great maintenance records, proper fuel...

Yup, folks are picking them up for less then 2K and don't know what they are getting into. Most have been beat on and left for others to worry about.
