I have a 2005 Lincoln Ls v6, Had a little chirping in the wheel which braught me to realize i havent changed the brakes in like 4 years, guess that was the cars way of tellin me its time huh. So I do the non scumbag move and change the not only the pads from semi metalic to the duralast gold fully ceramic pads from auto zone, You know they ones that come with all the hardware in the box (pads lube and shims), the rototrs get changed as well, not turned but brand new. Put the front one on first, good god whats that sound do the seeting thing, doesnt work still grinds. sounds like its only one spot on the rotor that it grinds on because its sounds like if you were to drag your feet when you run. almost like a pulsing grind. It happens only when the brakes get hot and are applied. When i stop caring and just drive it anyways it seems to even stay with the pulsing grinding even when im off the brakes. I replaced the rear rotors and pads but thos are great, no noise. just the fronts whats funny about it is when I leave the car alone and let the brakes cool down the grinding goes away untill it comes back please help. any suggestions would be helpful Thank you

Sounds like a warped rotor. What kind or rotors did u get? If you got the cheap ones, I could almost definitively say it is a warped rotor already. If you have the old rotors still, put them back on and see if you have a difference. Could also possibly be a hanging caliper. Did you take the slide bolts out to see of they were corroded?

Sounds caliper related. Have you bled the brakes? It is most likely either the fluid causing issues at the caliper, or the caliper needs replaced.

Have you checked the dust shield behind the rotor? it is easily bent, and when bent, will make contact with the rotor causing the noise you are hearing.

I think I know exactly what it is. I bought the exact same pads for my car, but didn't change the rotors because the only had 25kmi on them.

I'm assuming the brake pedal isn't pulsing, just the sound pulses. Mine does the same thing. I checked over the weekend and it is the outer edge of the rotor making contact with the plates you clip onto the caliper and the pads slide on. The plates are slightly too wide and juuusssst make contact. I bet a dollar that's it lol

jayyy k I have that same eact problem only it is on the front passenger side only. After the brakes heat up at all I have a scraping/gringing noise that even persists after i let off the brake until they cool down a bit. From what I have read on here it is a caliper pin sticking.

I have not tried to fix mine yet, but a couple people on here said it's pretty much as simple as pulling out the pin and lubing it. I don't really know how to do it either , but it's worth a shot...

A little lube makes it all better :D

Ain't that the truth! Pervert! LOL

Just don't get the lube on your discs or pads lol. I saw a cavalier driven over the curb of a jiffy lube this weekend and sitting on the rockers. Don't let that be you haha

I have the same issue, so its the caliper pins that need to be lubed??
