2005 navigator exhaust work, do resonator delete?

I just finished putting a flowmaster 40 on my navigator, which sounds pretty good, other than a short piece of pipe and the muffler, I left the rest stock. I am wondering if anyone has done the same and then replaced the resonator at the rear with regular pipe, and if it makes much of a difference in the sound? If it does, how much? I'm not planning on putting dual exhaust on it so it may be the only other change to the exhaust I do.

I did the Magnaflow cat back kit which does not have a resonator. I like it but there is some drone.
