The 2006 Cadillac STS-V, due out in the fall of 2005, will be the second V-series Cadillac. Since the STS is Cadillac's flagship, a supercharged version of the Northstar V-8 was considered more appropriate than the Corvette V-8 used in the Cadillac CTS-V.
The 4.4-liter engine produces 440 hp through a six-speed automatic transmission, giving the Cadillac STS-V a power-to-weight ratio almost as good as its little brother. The optional two-tone scarlet and black cabin pushes the boundaries of good taste. As great of an idea the high-performance variant of the excellent STS, what this car really needs is a decent interior, not a red one.
