My brother just picked up a '06 Mark LT. It looks nice (black on light gray leather) and rides smoothly....but my biggest gripes are:

1) Faux wood trim on dash....matte finish looks horrible.

2) Rear seat is 100% vinyl. They try to pass it off as leather....what a joke, especially for a truck with a $47,360 sticker!!!!!!!!!

Thank God it is just a lease. :)

According to Lincoln the Ebony wood inside the Mark LT is NOT fake but real. I myself thought it was fake as well when I first saw the vehicle. I do think the Nudo leather seats in the front and rear were nice and comfortable. I hope that Lincoln has a redsign in store for the Mark LT as I think it will be necessary in order for it to belong in the marque and make its owners FEEL like they are driving a luxury vehicle and not just an upper level F150. The Mark LT need more horsepower and a 6 speed transmission. It also needs a different layout in the dash and interior to make it different than the F150, the same way the Navigator interior was changed in 2003 to make it different from the Expedition. A Navigator/Aviator style interior would be a good thing. Some options such as a THX radio and HID headlights would be good. Hell Mercury makes HID standard on the Montego, cant see why Ford's luxury marque's vehicles cant have them. Those nice touches would certainly go a long way in making the Mark LT worthy of wearing the Lincoln emblem.

Not to sound mean, but are you really that dumb?
I can tell you that My Lt has both REAL wood trim and REAL leather front AND back.

I can tell you that Lincoln does have a redesign already in the works. I believe that the 08's will have the noticable design changes, but they have alreay made a few. Hint... look at the front bumper of the ones sent out in Feb of 05 and Dec 05... there are some subtle changes here and there. But the major redo will be the 08 if Im not mistaken.

Personally I'd love to see more power, but not sure when that will be... the 5.4 is still rather new... but... with the gas crunch... everyone is redesigning and designing new motors every day... may see a nice 350hp with 20mpg in the coming years.

As for the tranny.. I was actually suprised that they didnt go with a 6 speed... but again.. will see it soon i think.

i just picked a 06 up also. i got it for a 2 year lease. i like it alot i ran the first tank out of it today i was getting 16 mpg. now i am trying to figure out how to hook a ps2 up and hide all the wires lol

Hate my Lincoln Mark LT

I just purchased a 2006 Lincoln Mark LT in November. It has been nothing but problems. About a month ago things started going wrong with it. When I would start the vehicle hot or cold the whole truck would shudder for about 15 seconds and I was only getting 11.4 mpg. I also noticed the side mirrors were sticking when I would adjust them. The emblem and some of the exterior siding is popping up. there is a loud rattle in the dash. at speeds of 60+ the vehicle shakes violently. You can see the steering wheel shaking. I also just started to feel a shaking in the brakes when you apply them at any speed. I took it to the Lincoln service and they had it a full two weeks and found that it had two bad fuel injectors. They fixed the injector problem however I have to come back at the end of March for the rest of the repairs. Of course I now have more problems to add so Im sure I will be out of a truck for another 2+ weeks  I have had the truck back for about a week and a half and now I have noticed the same shudder in the engine when I start it again, on top of that my fuel economy is down to 10.8mpg. I am disgusted. What can I do??? Dont buy the Mark LT until Lincoln has fixed all the quirks!!!

Consider looking into the lemon law for your state. Seriously, you might have options since you bought/leased it new. I tried with my 2003 Navi but lost because it was 8 months old when we bought it. The 7.00 an hour grease monkeys that Lincoln employs to fix their 50-65000 vehicles should have to do a little more than get a GED to fix my car. Almost 2 years of hell and 76 days in the shop and all of my problems persist, literally too many to list. Ford's official response was that the vehicle was operating properly and even with my 76 days of documentation stated that there was 14. They do not stand behind their products. This is very unfortunate because I absolutely was raised a Ford man and love Lincoln.

Thanks for the tip about the Lemon Law, I just looked into it and I think my truck might apply. I agree that the service techs dont know what they are doing and they really dont care much about the customer. Lincoln has been no help either, I had to beg for a rental for the two weeks they had the truck the first time. The dealer called me today to confirm an appointment on the 30th and I had to tell them I had more problems to add. My service advisor informed me that I should be prepared to leave the truck for a few days. Thats what they said the last time and I didnt see the truck for the two weeks?? Oh well, Lemon Law it is. Are Fords known to have these problems? I have always been a Chevy kind of girl and never had any problems with them.
