2006 Town Car Signature - Stereo RDS Question

I am renting a new '06 Town Car this week and into next week. It is a base Signature with the single CD player.

Does this radio have the RDS system? I tried to look for it but came up empty. I know the display screen had room for stuff (music type or station name, etc.) but I cannot figure out how to activate it. The car has only 351 miles on it. :L

how are you liking it? i plan on selling my towncar and using some of that as a downpayment on either a mark 8, 2001 dhs or a 2003 cartier. i loooooove that body style. its alot chunkier than the 98-2002 tc, pure sex.

There should be a button labeled RDS on it...

Go into the settings on the screen and turn it on. it comes from the factory turned off. It was off on my 01.

I love this car. All I would need to buy one is heated/memory seats and the Alpine sound system or equivalent. I too am looking for a nice '03 Cartier to replace my 2000 Crown Vic with.

03+ really tickled my fancy not only when they added standard dual exhaust, the re-mapped the dash, added new wheels, and the freshening of the front and rear ends was the icing on the pie.

Back to RDS....I guess this car doesn't have it. I read the manual today and it says that only Town Cars equipped or "ready" for satellite radio have TEXT (RDS).

bah!!!!!! friggin options. the cartier would definately have it. It shows the artist and title of the song being played and then any one liner the radio stations wants to throw at you. The name of the station and the genre.
