Would a 26x10.5" tire fit on a 15" fan blade t-bird wheel? They're on some pretty skinny chevy wheels right now. maybe 15x7.

Fan Blade T-bird Wheel? Which wheel is that?

IIRC the T-birds only came with 16" wheels. Actually, I know for a fact the Supercoupes came with 16 inchers, I'm not sure of the LX's.

If they did all come with 16 inch wheels, then the answer is obviously "NO". You cannot mount a 15" tire on a 16" wheel. Well, I'm sure you COULD, but it won't work well.

The thunderbird fan wheels are 15". Someone else would have to tell you about the fitment issue tho.

Lets see...

As long as it's a 15" tire, yes.

I believe those wheels, (and I might be wrong) are 15 X 7. ..I also know they are 15" wheels as k9t8m stated.

10.5 I assume is the overall width, not the section width.

SO, if the fan wheel is in fact 7" wide and not 6.5, ....which would be stupid if that's the case and I doubt it....... then, ..

there is an extra 1/4" wheel lip on each side of the wheel that you can figure out to the overall outside width of the wheel would be 8".

10.5 - 8 = 2.5.

2.5 divided by two ..........since the extra width is split between the two sides of the wheel........ would give you about 1 1/4" of overhang on each side before you take the natural bowing of the tire into consideration since you're stuffing it on a 7" wheel.

I bet you would have about 1" bulging out from each side of the wheel.

Which isn't so bad but I definately wouldn't go any wider than that.

I would keep them strictly for the track, also.

...I would do it. Hope this helps.

10.5'' MT ET STREETS will fit no problem but I don't think that 10.5 MT ET DRAG will fit on 15'' fan style t-bird wheel--they are 15x6.5.I have 27x11.5'' MT ET STREETS on fan style wheels and they fit no problem. My brother has 26x8.5 ET DRAG on fan style wheels and the width is preatty much same as mine.If you aren't planning to run lower than 10 psi on slicks don't even waste your time and money with tubes.I've got my slicks without tubes for about 4 months now and they still hold an air. Here are few pictures of my 27/10.5/15 MT ET STREETS on fan style t-bird wheels vs 255 BFG drag radials on super coupe 16'' wheel. If you want to see T-bird fan style wheels with MT slicks mounted on 98 mark VIII check this video Click here to see Video

Thanks a lot man. You really eased some worry off my shoulders. I thought that tubes would be neccessary. I plan on running 15-20 psi.
