Can anyone verify the ohms and watts of the stock 2nd. Gen. Audiophile door component speakers?

AFAIK, the ohms of the stock speaker should be stamped on the back of the magnet. Just pull the speaker and check it out. It should be a 2 ohm, 45w speaker.

... It should be a 2 ohm, 45w speaker.

That applies to the 6x9 rear subs. I think that the component door speakers are different, but I would have to pull one out to verify.

I thought it was a 4 ohm speaker in each door, but I don't have a meter here at my house to test for sure...

EDIT: I just ran out to the barn to look in my "LS" tote and found four of my old door speakers, but while I know the 1st and 2nd gens are extremely similar, I am not sure which LS they are from as they were with both a 1st and 2nd gen radio. they don't have the impedance listed on the back and this models have "Mach" stamped into the plastic. Ill try to remember to take them to work with me so i can meter them out but i won't go back in for a couple of days... (I though the machs were out of the 2nd gen and the ones from the 1st gen were branded as alpine instead of mach but I can not be 100% sure of that as if they were the 2nd gens, they have been sitting in that tote for at least 5 years)

is there any specific reason you are looking for that information?

Loud, I find it shocking you don't have a multimeter at home. Aren't you an audio person?? No ofeense haha

Besides, I thought a multimeter was also part of the "LS owner's package"

I normally do lol... but a few months ago, I ran over my cheap craftsman DMM, so lately whenever I'm going to be doing work at home, I just bring home my Fluke in case I need it... Also With moving out to the country a little over a year ago, I've been putting more focus on 120v projects and leaving the 12v for the work week. over the winter I've turned a small section ov my barn into a nice little workshop and have been grabbing tool for that. trust me, A good meter is quickly working its way up the long and expensive list of tools needed!

Haha, fair enough. I've been happy with my $35 Klein, even compared to my dad's Fluke and Sears multimeters. Mine has an illuminated screen!

Yes! I have an early build 2000 LS sport with the manual trans. My vehicle has the Audiophile system with rear subs, no real complaints; however, I was wondering about potential cheap upgrades, and was thinking the audiophile component speakers from the 2nd. Gen. LS might be a little better, I know they're different since they are completely different part number from the first Gen. Audiophile, I just don't know how they're different.

impedance will not be an issue, they are 100% swappable, but there really isnt much difference at all, same component style pod, if anything, it feels like the 2nd gens are a little cheaper/lighter...

I mean if you have a set of 2nd gens speakers sitting around for free, then sure go for it, but I wouldn't spend any money of acquiring a set of them especially with how cheap speakers are these days, you can actually get a extremely good speaker for less than $60 a pair!

Cool, I'd be able to get these brand-new for $30 each, so I was just wondering.

well for $30 bucks each, I definitely would not waste the cash to get the exact same sound quality...

especially considering one of the very best speakers in the game right now (well without getting into like $600 a pair components) are only $13 more shipped for free...

kinda makes it a no brainer to actually spend the money on something good...
