Serge,
If you could explain whats going on here I would appriciate it.
1. NOT "slight" surface rust. After scraping off the build up the gears are pitted pretty badly.
2. Thread Locking compound, Leading me to believe it's been installed.
3. More rust
4. 36 Tooth Ring gear
5. Nicks in the ring gear caused by poor packaging, caused by the pinion banging aginst the ring.
6. One of the many chipped and or broken teeth on the pinion.
7. Obvious wear pattern on the pinion signifying prior use.
8. Burnishing on the pinion shaft from a bearing that used to be on it.
9. Ford factory paint on the end of the pinion.
10. Explains it all.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
I also can't help but notice that there are NO ring gear sets out there that have 36 teeth on the ring and 10 on the Pinion. The only thing I can come up with is, The ring is out of a 3.27 unit, and the pinion is 4.10. I got my info here......

Please get in touch with me so we can work something out to remedy this.
Thanks.
Mike
