Deal with Sean Hypeland at your own risk, also be prepared to refinance your house too.
Heres the real world way to make a tried and proven daily driver a 13 second screamer without sacrificing anythng including mileage. Also you will keep your engine BONE STOCK!!

The real deal

Sean Hyland is waaayyyy too expensive!! Are you talking 350-400 at the wheels? If so, you're talking boring, stroking, porting and upgrading everything you can get your hands on!! That still might not get you in the ball park. Getting 420hp out of 281 cubic inches is the minimum, that you'll need. Supercharging is the easiest route...or so it seems. You could do some high compression, high revving nitrous setup too maybe. All of which will cost you more than necessary if you use Sean Hyland products.

why are you guys so down on this guy? just because i read his book doesn't mean i have to buy my parts from him.

I'm not down on him. There are just cheaper places that are just as reputable. My buddy Scott has a Sean Hyland engine in his Mark. With a JT Trim Vortech, it's making 660rwhp. But the engine alone was $13,000.00.

hmm, im not planning on it being my rediclouly fast car...it would be my second "fastmobile" first is going to be the 500hp 400 (or 550hp 455) trans am, and id just want the mark to be able to beat the pants off of the other mustangs that think they are the $hit compaired to the marks. i dont want to lose to another supercharged stang.

I read that book and learned a great deal about the modular engines, that's why I recommend it. It was recommended to me by my former car forum.

I don't do business with Hyland because he is pricey, nor do I endorse him. But that book is not a catalog or giant commercial for Hyland- it's a guide he wrote. There are many details in it along with great photos and stats. This book is written for those who are looking for some really good power. Enjoy it as I did!

I agree the book has a ton of good info. Info that I spent LOTS of money figuring out on my own.
Use the book to learn but keep your options open when it comes time to buy.

Depends if you are talking 350-400 at the crank or at the wheels.

At the crank, you should be able to do it with:
cobra intake (maybe an SSR intake)
higher compression (11.0:1)
cams (crower stage 2)
Long tube headers (kooks)
2.5" exhaust
Underdrive pulleys

At the wheels add:
Headwork
Boring and stroking

Of course you will need to upgrade your fuel system, tranny and driveline and a dyno tune.

Or you could go the easy route and run a 100 shot of nitrous.
