Is there anything of interest for our cars from this engine? I can get parts for free from a truck that is being scrapped by someone i know. So if there is anything i can get from it i would be stupid to pass it up.

Tire valve stem caps.....can never have enough of those damn little things. :)

Actually, I know nothing or heard of anything from that engine that would work, maybe the MAF or the transmission cooler might be of some use.

i like to pull battery, starter, and alternator cabling because i like building bigger/better charging systems.

Already have an 850 amp battery which i have drained twice screwing with the car. The idler pulley is missing so the alternator doesn't charge effectively, then the air suspension compressor kills the already undercharged battery. I have full coils so i need to pull the fuse for that while i throw the battery on a charger.

lol there goes any hope of good gas mileage. Diesel class torque would be awesome, but not much more hp than a regular mark.

the 3 valve 6.8 produced like 362/457. thats a nice little jump over the stock 280/280 or so.

yeah the older ones were lower, still had like 425 torque though. and they ran pretty good.

Pretty sure it won't fit. And you'd have to beef up the suspension

If you bought a Mark thinking you wanted good MPG, you should sell it and buy a Saturn. Marks are for happy fun time! A diesel Mark on the other hand would be a bad ass torque monster.

I know it wont get 4cyl mileage but that's not the point. All i ask from the car is too get about 15-20mpg while still being fun, comfortable, and nice looking. My definition of good mileage is, can it get better mileage than my pickup trucks while being more powerful? I think it can.

Yeah, pull the whole engine. It'll fit. Eventually.

the water pump will work, flows more water and the radiator if it will fit, supposedly the internal parts will work rods, pistons etc but I've never dig that deep into the part numbers

This is all great info unfortunately the person who was going to scrap the 6.8 truck decided to sell instead. I will keep this in mind next time at the junkyard.
