I would like to know if it is possible to swap my 85 lsc intake for the ones on the 91 style marks so i could supercharge it and do mods and stuff, and i also need to know if its is possible to swap could i use an f series truck intake it looks to be the same ony flipped around?? i love this car and want the newer style intake and stuff so i can do some performance mods and if i cant are there any mods i can do to it now i already have a flowmaster duel exaust. Please help Greg

Sure you can bolt on all of those things. I think you'll need a new computer though. If you want to heavily mod, convert to mass air from a mustang. Mark VII's use speed density which is not good for mods. But, if you throw on any kind of intake, your old computer won't work. Not much you can do with the stock setup. I have a friend that took an 84', ripped off the toilet bowl injection and put on a carb. That thing would beat my other friends 89' LSC.

i know about the whole mass air thing and planned to do it if it is possible to swap to the mustang style intake, but the main question i have is could i use an f series i think a 89 or a little newer style intake on my car and flip it around i dont like the the 2 injector intake and stuff i have now i really want the newer style i have all winter long as the car will be put up so can anyone answer my questions please?? Thanks to all who reply Greg

i am willing to use the computer from whatever vehicle the intake is taken from i just want to know how i would go about doing this and if anyone has done it before i hate the 85 style fuel injection and the lack of mods that can be done to it

I believe your vehicle has C.F.I., so it would take a lot more than just swapping the intake to get the results you are refering to.

I have upper and lower from 91 LSC. you"re definitely going to have to do some mods! I will have my computer for sale as soon as I get enough friggin' time off from my job to do a mass air conversion. I'll let the intake go cheap if you're still interested pm me. I'm working out of town M-F and may take a while to get back to you.

yup it has cfi and i guess i am looking to swap it over to efi like the mustangs from 89 to 93 i think. I just would like to know what i need to get to do that kind of conversion. are there an kits to turn mine to mass air its an 85 LSC, and i would also like to know what type of mods i could do to this car?? The car is really nice and i just want some more power it has a dual exaust with flowmaster mufflers thats it i would really like to super charge it but i dont know if i can i am hoping u guys can point me in the right direction to do this. Thanks Greg

You would have to completely rework the fuel delivery system, which includes the computer and also affects things like cruise control, and that would just be the beginning. You are talking about taking on a huge undertaking just to convert to an engine that you could have already installed from the factory in a newer Mark VII for what will most likely be less money than you would spend on the conversion. You should strongly consider getting a Mark VII with the 5.0 H.O. engine if you want a solid foundation for power.

thats the problem josh i have only ever senn 2 of these cars in this state the one i bought to drive and the other day i was driving and found a parts one in some guys back yard i got it for 100 bucks the only thing that it dosnt have is the rear end everything else is in the car. my driver is an 85 and my parts car is a 87 could i upgrade either of these to mass air so i can mod them with cams and such i really want to supercharge the 85 is it possible? Thanks Greg

You really need to do more research on the subject. It is apparent that you are simply listening to whatever little bit you have been told without doing any extensive looking around. You can swap it all out, but it will be a very indepth endeavor. For example, there is no need to switch to mass-air right off the bat. You can easily do everything you want with speed-density and knowledge.

Josh that is why i am asking these questions to see if it can be done, what type of mods can i do to the car with the speed density system?? i know all about the motor part i would need the upper and lower intakes a harness the computer and such and so on. Everyone on here says u need mass air to do any modific ations to the motor because the system i have now will not adjust for more and and such and i dont feel like having a new chip burned when i do stuff to the motor. people also say a speed density system will not like it if i put a bigger cam in so explain to me what i can do for more power with the motor i have now????

Josh is 100% correct. Your car being a cfi model has a different cam, heads and pistons. There may not be a lot of LSCs in Maine, but I'll bet there are a few 87 and newer T-Birds, Cougars and Stangs. These cars all had the same HO engine. It would be a lot cheaper and much better in the long run to do a swap. You could save you money and do an overhaul and any mods you might be interested in doing before you install the engine. If money isn"t an object, there are tons of good crate motors available- just check out the ads in Muscle Mustang & Fast Fords magazine. I highly recommed you read this mag if you're into speed. It has a lot of good articles on how to build a 5.0
Good Luck!

Thank you mark that is the type of stuff i wanted to here as for the other cars you are refering to ive never seen a v8 cougar around here or a t bird. Mustang in this area with that type of motor go for 2500 or a little less but they are beaters, plus and im not spending that much on basically just a motor for my car. Are there things that i could do to the motor i have now to increase the power? not to radical but some things, and thank u mark and josh i am gratefull for the help hope u can anwser the other ? i have.

Thanks Greg

Unfortunately there are minimal gains to be had with a CFI engine. An exhaust, gears, and possible a light shot of nitrous will get you about as far as you can go without swapping to a more aftermarket friendly version of the 5.0.
