Your questions (both posts) are not very clear. There are end caps, but the connections the engine and the hoses are open. What is the problem you actually have? Is it a coolant leak? Experience says that you will have to replace all of the plastic cooling system parts on the engine at the least (plus the degas bottle).

so, if your sh!t broke like mine did, then one of the entire ends (the right end in that picture) just blew off, making it look like something should have been connected to it.
