I am doing the HID conversion in my headlights, but I am having a tough time finding a good 9145 kit to do the fogs. I remember hearing somewhere on here that the 9005 will work in the 9145 hole. Can anyone confirm this? If so is there any modification that needs to be done? Thanks!

I heard the same thing, I haven't done a search yet on it, I just saw your post and thought I would chime in. There are 2 diffrent styles of 9005, one is at a 90* angle and the other is not. Does anyone know what bulbs would go in here?

I believe that both the 9005 and 9145 are the same bulb. The only difference is that the 9145 has a colored tip to create less glare to on comming traffic. But for the HID foglights, I'm pretty sure you could use the 9005 kit.

Thanks a lot guys. I am going to go ahead and order the 9005 kit for my fogs. Ill post pics when they are installed.

The 9005 and 9145 bulb have the same socket so the 9005 will fit in the fogs. However, the 9145 has a painted tip to reduce glare so you may get people flashing their lights at you with the fogs on.

I actually e-mailed the company and they did have the 9145 bulbs, they just didn't have them posted on their site. Thanks a lot though guys!:)

What brand are you getting?

Do a search under my posts. I took a picture of the difference between the 9145 and 9005 bulbs installed in my car. The 9005 did put off a glare because of the none painted tip. Also the 9005 was a 55-60 watt bulb and the 9145 was a 45 watt bulb. I had the candlepower ratings of the two but I cannot find them. I have not been "flashed" with the 9005 bulb but it might be offensive to some people.

I went with the HIDynamic kit. A friend of mine has the same one in the 12000K and it seems to be a quality kit. I don't know a whole bunch about the HID conversions, but from what I can tell it looks like a good kit. The installation was extremely simple also, we had it done in about 15 minutes and we even took the headlights out to hide the ballasts.
