91 Towncar Issues...Please Help?

Ok, im new to this forum, but i recently bout a 91 Lincoln Towncar Signature Series.

It ran like a dream the first 2 weeks.

Then the power steering pulley cracked, and the pump was leaking. And a few days before that happened, the engine would start to "choke", almost like it was fuel starved when i would be on the highway. When this would happen, the Check Engine light would come on for a few minuets, then go off. If i would shut off the car for a while, then resume driving, the problem would go away.

So i figured it was the fuel filter.

When i bought the new pulley and pump, i also replaced the fuel filter, and changed my oil.

So i was on the road once again.

About a week or so after that, my passenger side caliper seized up and got so hot that it caught on fire.

Replaced the rotor and caliper, and got it on the road again.

The car has always had a slight pull the left when i use the brakes, and still does after i changed the right side rotor and caliper. So im assuming that the left side rotor is slightly warped, in which case im going to also replace soon. So hopefully that will fix the slight pull and vibration when i brake.

BUT MY MAIN ISSUE at the moment is the engine "choking" out, as it is still doing it every now and again after i replaced the fuel filter. Well, it only did it once so far since it sat for a week waiting for the new caliper and rotor.

So could it just be sediment in the tank that built up from sitting? Or is it my fuel injectors? Cause ive heard that they have a bad injector.

The engine just seems like it runs alot harder, mainly at idle. Like i can feel the shake of the engine in the car and seats, whereas it never did it when i first bought it.

And my last problem im having after i replaced the rotor and caliper is vibration in the steering wheel when i get up to about 65 and especially above 70. Its not a MAJOR vibration, just kinda feels like a wheel is slightly out of balance, but there is a slight play in the steering. like when the wheel is centered and i turn it slightly left and right, it kinda feels like there is a "loose spot"? Kinda hard to explain how it feels.

Just been really disappointed in the car so far...When i saw it, i had to have it! The body and interior were in great condition, and was the smoothest car ive drove...Now theres just alot of new slight vibration that you can feel in the wheel, and seats, and the engine sounding and feeling like its fuel starved...

I know its alot of problems all in one post, but i need help and opinions from anyone! I want this thing to run and feel like the way it did when i rolled it from the lot!
 
Welcome to the forums. Change the rest of your brakes, alignment, tune up, balance the tires. It's 20 years old, it's bound to need work. Smack the MAF and see if it dies.
 
The MAF would make sense, cause if it isnt reading right, the injectors wont work properly am i right? And just literally SMACK it? lol
 
Tap the MAF with the butt end of a screwdriver, if it stumbles or dies its probably bad. The deadzone in your steering is the steering box, or pitman arm, or idler arm, or tie rods, or all of them, have the front end checked. If it's just the steering box, you can replace it if its really annoying, but that's not a guarantee that the new one won't have a deadzone, it's a steering box thing. If you want you can google the difference between a steering box and a rack and pinion for a better explanation,(town cars used a steering box until 2003, its just another part of that cushy, floaty, what pothole ride they are known for).
