I have read the available material that is offered here at this site.

I'm still left with a question that I need answered before I begin my install of my new deck.

The old system is a Bose Gold Series CD/tape deck. In the schematics that I have looked at for that stereo it says that the speakers are individually amplified.

My plan is to replace just the deck and keep the stock speakers for now.

The deck that I have is a 45w x 4 amplified deck. Will the amplified deck plus the amplified speakers be a bad idea?

Anyone with experience on this???

Thanks for any input in advance. :Beer

There is a tuner pack located in the rear of your car. It is either behind the panel on the passenger side or directly behind the back seat. This is where you will need to make all of your radio connections for your new heaad unit. MOst places will use a harness by metra called a 70-1858. This is a generic gm harness for vehicles years 88-up. Metra however has a bose/amp interface harness for cadillacs and other gm vehicles. The part number on it is a 70-1857. This includes 17 feet of 4 channel rca's, your ant cable (it plugs into the tuner pack as well), and power, ground, acc, and remote. The only thing to worry about is that your radio has 2 sets of pre-amp outputs on it. other than that the installation is a breeze. Any more questions feel free to email me because I have done these cars numerous of times
