Put gas in my 94 a couple months ago at Sunoco and car wouldn't restart. CAA towing hit gas tank with something while I turned key and it fired right up. I changed the fuel pump with a Walbro 190. Easy swap. Cut a hole under the back seat next to rubber grommet using aircraft snips. I had to cut wire harness and use crush connectors to re attach wires. I'll leave dropping the tank to all you hard core perfectionists. (Don't forget to polish the mufflers while you're under there ha ha ha) The car later developed a misfire. I changed spark plugs and wires (Champion Platinum and Motorcraft wires from Rockauto.com) like forums suggested (Thanks!!) now it runs great except for one thing. When I first start it cold the throttle "hesitates" for a few minutes like old cars with a bad accelerator pump. Any suggestions?? Thanks for your posts otherwise I'd be broke from taking the car to a mechanic or would have pushed the car off a cliff long ago. Oh one more thing I've put four alternators in the last three years. Why do jobber alternators not last long???

Champion plugs need to come out and I would put in Autolite 764's Copper. Also, you may want to change your fuel filter if you haven't already but please get the Champion plugs out. You might need another TPS too. $40 to $50 and rockauto.com might have it cheaper and you can get Motorcraft. That's all I can think of.

Possible IAC problem too. If you have the cash and the time to wait for the parts to come in the mail, I seriously would get a new TPS and IAC and change them both while the TB is off and you will need a new TB gasket. The IAC is a bitch to do but you'll manage.

What size battery do you have?

Champion Platinum Plugs

Whats wrong with Champion Platinum??? Car has never run better. Has a new battery now. Someone suggested old battery was working alternator too much. Had Interstate battery. Looked new. I won't repeat what a friend said about Interstate Batteries. Wasn't good. We'll see. I know these cars are REALLY sensitive to low or erratic voltage. Thanks for suggesting TPS and IAC. First place I'll look. Car was fine till I changed wires.

If you replace an electric fuel pump DISCONNECT THE BATTERY !!!!! or you may end up in orbit next to the space station.
