So I have a friend who is willing to sell me his fully loaded 94' STS for $3,500 roughly with 50K miles. From what I've been reading, that seems like a good deal I think right? My question is do you think that the miles are low enough (it was driven by an elderly couple too) that I can stay away from serious repairs like suspension etc. for at least the next 15-20K miles?

Also If I were to put 15K miles on it over the next 12-18 months do you think that I could turn it around and resell it for close to what I paid for it??

Also what issues should I be looking for with a car that's roughly 12 years old but only has 50,000 miles on it??

Thanks for the help you guys, I am looking forward to becoming a new Cadillac owner:) !!

There's honestly no telling when parts will fail on older cars. Sometimes it's mileage, sometimes it's just time that kills parts. However $3500 is a pretty good deal, there's a good chance you'd be fine for at least 20k, and you could very likely get the same $3500 out of it in a year. Look for usual items like rust or broken parts, also with the key on hold down OFF and WARMER on the climate control and see if there are any current codes.
