Here's a cut/paste from my Orlando Craigslist ad...you all can pull my previous posts for history since I bought it (April). I can't maintain it the way she deserves; I don't have the ability, or the time; give me a carbureted small block, and I'll turn a wrench any day; older FI vehicles give me fits...this car is perfect for some of you on here. Save her; she deserves it! I bought it for more than what I'm asking, and I put in about a grand since April...if anything else goes out on it, I'm not going to be able to afford the fix. Pictures will be up tomorrow; Here's the ad (link not yet operative; will update post when up):

Hello...selling my '95 Lincoln Mark VIII, with roughly 161k miles. It has a lot of work put into it over the past couple of years, but needs a few odds and ends that I do not have the time to take care of, so I need to sell. It has ICE COLD A/C (Heat works as well), Power windows, locks, and mirrors (all work perfectly), Power seats (pass. seat not working though), memory driver seat, clean Leather interior for its age, light window tints, tires are 70% tread, paint is in great shape (no fading, bubbling, etc.). It has a 4.6L 32V V8 engine...surprisingly, it got me 21.5 MPG in combined driving...it's a fair combination of power and fuel economy.

The GOOD (all documentation available):
***Converted to Coil springs; no air suspension to worry about; rides smooth
***New starter and Neutral safety switch (6/11)
***Recent rear suspension work on the driver side including CV shaft assembly replacement, control arm bushing, wheel bearing, and wheel hub (5/11)
***Rear driver side rotor, pads, and caliper replaced (5/11)
***New Water Pump (9/10)
***New front brake rotors and pada (7/10)
***Front end rebuild, with MOOG parts including sway bar link, bushings, control arms, and ball joints (7/10)
***CD player has aux input for IPOD or other MP3 player (currently no sound though; see below - unit itself works fine)

The BAD:
***Recently had the stereo, gas gauge, and diagnostic computer (the one that tells you MPG, mileage range, etc.) go out on me at the same time; it's obviously something electrical, just don't know what; if you fill it up every time, and take an average of 20MPG fuel economy, you can calculate when you need gas
***Has an oil leak from somewhere; my mechanic couldn't pinpoint where it was coming from, but it was NOT from the gasket behind the oil filter (common problem on these); it was dry there; it's not extreme, but more than just a few drops....I had the oil changed back in May, and have not had to add any oil yet, so that gives you an idea
***Upon startup, it has a slight hesitation...it idles kind of rough for a couple minutes; if you don't let it warm up, it will shut off on you...once it's warmed up, the car idles perfectly fine throughout your drive; in researching the online forums, most think replacing the IAT sensor would take care of this problem; I don't have the mechanical ability to do this
***Slight tear in driver side leather seat back
***rear bumper has a small tear
***front grill is cracked

Most of the above issues are pretty minor....if you can turn a wrench, you can take care of this for the price of a nice dinner and some beer....I don't have the mechanical ability, or the time, so I have to let her go...I'm asking $1275 OBO....don't lowball me a ridiculous price....I'd rather let it sit there until someone pays what it's worth than let it go for scrap metal price. I don't have pictures right now, except for the one below, but I can take some and email them to you; they will be from my phone, so quality won't be that great (crappy phone).

I have the rest of the engine cover in the trunk; any other pictures anyone else wants, let me know

Yes, you're asking too much.
You certainly shouldn't be over $1k

I was thinking $600 tops for that. Mileage is high, the inside is ragged out, the rear bumper cover is torn, interior pieces are broken. I myself wouldn't buy it because of the color combo but really, the only part of it left is the exterior. It would take some work and dollars to get the inside right again. Just being honest.

I think it's a decent car, with some elbow grease it could be very decent for it's age. If you just wanna dump it, drop the price, but if you want your money's worth:

Don't bother here, us mark enthusiasts don't want a headache or project unless it's for pennies.

Put some front seat covers on it.

Clean it real nice.

Go to a junkyard and spend 20 on the broken plastic peices if you can find any.

Try and get a used grille, if you are lucky, if no luck, make one out of mesh from lowe's like I did before I sold my '93.

Get an eBay seller's account, list it for ~$1500 or make offer, park it with a sign on it, run it on CL.

When posting ads, only take flattering pictures of damage and not directly, picky buyers won't want a somewhat worn car anyway.

Makes sure you take care of any loose ends you can (clean fluids and proper tire pressure, air freshner, armor all, wax), it is proven cars that look like sh*t sell faster if they appear well cared for, even if it is clear they haven't. I knew my '95 wasn't what I thought it was, so I did all the small stuff and then the buyer had no room to jew me down on stupid stuff.

Sell it like it's important, pros before cons, minimize BS and don't list problems that aren't obvious, remember, people who care about little issues do not want a worn car anyway.

It will sell. I sold one and I am only 90 minutes away from you. My '95 sold for $1550 on eBay in 3 days because it didn't LOOK as crappy as it was. Mine needed MAJOR repairs.

I've sold A LOT of cars in the last 7 years or so, and I wanted to offer a little more advice....

how it should read if you want it gone said:
Up for sale is my '95 Lincoln Mark VIII. I'd like $1399, and I'll consider reasonable offers.
Just over 160k miles on the 4.6 32v engine and 4 speed automatic trans. I get over 21mpg!
It has ICE COLD A/C and heat! Power windows, locks, and mirrors all work perfectly. Driver's side power seat with memory function works fine, passenger's power is not working. Leather interior is average for its age. Tires are great and have around 70% tread. Paint is in very good shape.
Just in the last few months I've replaced the starter and neutral safety switch and had some rear suspension work done on the driver side. This work includes a new CV shaft assembly, control arm bushing, wheel bearing, wheel hub, rotor, pads, and caliper.
These Lincolns often come with suspension issues, this one has none, it has been converted to springs to eliminate air ride issues, and the front suspension had a fresh rebuild only one year ago. The work was done with quality MOOG parts, they are the best parts for these cars, the parts replaced were sway bar endlinks, bushings, control arms assemblies, at the same time brake pads and rotors were replaced. Shortly after a new water pump was installed. This car rides smooth like a luxury car should.
To prove this car has been well maintained, all documentation from these repairs is available.
Minor electrical issue causes the radio and fuel gauge to be inoperable, I've been using the trip odometer to estimate fill-ups. There are a few blemishes on this vehicle, including a cracked grille and some superficial bumper damage, but a little TLC and it can look even better than it does.
You must allow this older car to warm up in the morning, it has always been dependable, but due to age, it's cold natured. I have recently heard an IAT sensor may help.
Thanks for looking!

I'd run these as pics:

Damn Big Mike....thanks!!! you are the man...gonna cut and paste your version into Craigslist....thanks a bunch man; very much appreciate your kindness :)

I just hope you get what you want for it and it goes to a good new home. I know what it's like to have a car you don't wanna worry about anymore, you just gotta summon that last bit of "give a damn", lol, and get it ship-shape to sell. I've sold so many cars I figure a tip or two may help. I was worried I came off as condescending.

Not at all bro...thanks for your help; however, I just sold it based on the old ad from Craigslist :p

Didn't get what I was asking, but close...and nowhere near the 600 the asshat up above said it was worth/suggested. thanks again...

Glad you did. Congrats. NoLimit is usually not an asshat, kinda brutal the way he said what he did though, maybe a bad day?
