I saw these cobra headers on ebay and I was wondering if there would be any clearance problems if I were to install them. I want to get rid of my cats, but i dont want to get headers or mess with the stock headers to try and hack the cat from it. Also, If i were to get rid of the cats, what would I do about the EGR? Ive heard that it serves NO purpose once the cats are gone...

EGR still has a purpose even if there are no cats - at least for emissions purposes. Additionally, a very good friend of mine documented a 2 mpg fuel mileage decrease after removing the EGR that we've not yet explained.

Paul.

Just because they fit a Mustang Cobra doesn't mean they fit a Mark Vlll. You can order the Kooks headers with or without EGR. I went without, and also deleted the cats.

Well maybe I dont have a job that I can afford to buy $500 headers. I just want to get rid of my cats so my car will be louder.

They will fit, but after you spend about as much as you would to just buy the kooks headers.......it has been done, at major expenses.:shifty:

Current bid is 15 bucks on ebay... All I need to do is get my exhaust re-worked... That will be less than 40 bucks...

I thought they interfered with the steering knuckle..? I think people have done it, but the headers themselves need to be "reworked" to say the least.

They're cast iron and are very compact. Not much bigger than stock mark 8 EMs. They're technically NOT headers. They're exhaust manifolds.

Ahh, now that you mention it I think I am confusing the stock ones for aftermarket Cobra headers people have tried to use. I just looked them up on ebay and they definitley are slim. The only part I'd be worrying about hitting something would be the outlet, but it shouldn't be a problem considering that's where our huge cats are.
