96 Continental Shocks/Struts Question

I have a 96 Continental that I converted to spring. I retained the electronic ride control.

My right front strut/shock is bad now... I knew it would at sometime.

Can I use the 97-02 and up electronic front strut or do I have to use the 95-96?

I can find 97 for $100 vs 96 for $300.... both electronic OEM.
