I took a set of HID's out of a 94 and installed them into a 96, by myself, without any special brackets.

They more than likely did come out of a 96 to start out with. But there did not seem to be any mods on the 94. But I could be mistaken, happens. Hell it happened at least 3 or 4 times just today alone.

Is this an issue about the ballasts or the housings?

A mounting bracket was available for the ballasts, but it's not necessary for the lamp housings themselves.

If the issue is the housings, do as GMAN said; widen the holes in the header panel till the housings fit.

The header panel is different in 93\94 then the ones in the late 95\96 cars. I believe the ballast bracket has been discontinued and is VERY hard to come by.

well, you know the 96 lsc was the only one to have them.

i thought LSC started in '96 as did HID's for m8...........

yea, meakin the hole bigger worked.....
thx ;)

now tryin to find a freggin place for those ballys

The LSCs for the Mark VIII started in '95. I know, I had one that I gave to my old man a few months ago. The HIDs came in late '95, but those are pretty rare.

I put the ballasts close enough together so I could run a ziptie from one to the other on the backside using those tabs. That way they won't shake around; will keep each other in place without touching each other (I wasn't sure if that was important or not) I used lockwashers, and large washers below those so that strain wasn't in just 'one' spot on my header, since they seem a bit brittle there. (behind the grille)

Make sure to break out the tabs in you harness that permanently lock them together so you can replace the bulbs later without having to throw it in the trash afterwards.

true, but there are so few, that it doesnt count in my book...but there certantly werent any in 94.

The late 95 LSC's did come with Hid's, but it was a recall and most were replaced with hallogens.

if you get the right conversion kit for the 93-96 they work awsome. i have had them for over a year now and have no problems and they are in stock headlight lenses that came with the 94 m8 obviously they are new ones but they dont have to be the ones from the hid 96 m8
