I have a 96 TC which might have built in auto start, there is a sticker in the engine compartment that says so. my question is how do i know it this is really there (the auto start ) and how do i use it with the factory remote
thanks for your help

If it is on the factory remote, it will have a blue start button, or press lock and unlock together for a second or so. Chances are its an add on especially if there is a sticker. Read the sticker. Does it give a reference to a brand, DEI will have a reference if it is by DEI, i believe code alarm stickers are about an inch, inch and a half with a metallic style background.

Also look under the under dash panel below the steering wheel, that would be the location of the module. Unless your not sure what it is supposed to look like down there, then you will just be hurtin your back. You may have to drop that panel and see what you can find down there. Any information on remote starters whatsoever in the glove box.????

well i really have no clue how to tell but my freind has his hooked up to where if he hits unlock 3 times in a row it will start up its tied into his factory remote not sure if it will help u just tellin u what i kno

You are going to have to do some searching bro. Chances are the remote is gone, the factory add on thing is really rare for a 96. Drop that under dash panel below the steering column if you have any electrical knowledge it will come in handy.

try pressing lock and unlock at the same time, or lock twice.

It has to be an aftermarket add on - and you'll need the remote for it to make it work. Try to find a manufacturer name or at least a model number on that box - that'll give you a good place to start. You can also take it someplace that sells / installs auto-starters and see if they can get a remote for you.
