97 HID Retrofit questions

Guys Im trying to help another MK VIII owner without low beams and I have a few questions.
1- I assume I need delrin bushings?
2-Who do I get the new ballasts and sockets from? DDM tuning is being suggested. Does anyone else have a supplier they like?
3-Should I get the 55w bulbs?
4-Are any of these kits truly plug and play or will I need to modify the wiring harness in some fashion.

This guy has turned to me for help so Im gonna try to get him going in the right direction. All advice is appreciated, Thanks

1 - Bushings? No, but you'll need some adapters or some other way to hold the new bulbs in the stock housing.
2 - Last I looked, DDM was having a sale.
3 - Most use the 35w digital slim kits.
4 - You'll need to connect the new ballasts to the existing wiring.

2 I am happy so far with DDM
3 IMHO 55W HID is a waste of money
4 Not plug and play. You need to get the 12V headlight feed from before it enters the ballast. The wiring at the bulb socket is high voltage from the stock ballast and will not work with new HID bulbs.
