97 lincoln towncar

Hi, I'm new here but have been a lincoln town car owner for years. I use to have a 93 signature that was recently totaled in an accident. I'm looking to buy a 97 executive but the passenger door electronic lock does not work. In other words, when I press the unlock button on the remote in inside the car, it will not unlock. How expensive, worst case and best case, would it be to fix this. I just want to get an idea before I buy this car.

I had the same problem on my 93 but i got rid of it for my 95
before I fixed it
The problem could be the power door lock actuator
I think they run for about $45-50
this is just my opinion

I'd grab an actuator out of the boneyard, or if possible take it out of your 93, should be the same

Hey thanks for the replies. So no one thinks that it will be too expensive to get the electronic lock repaired on the passenger door? I just want to make absolutely sure before purchasing.

No it shouldn't be if you do the work yourself

Well keep looking for a signature or cartier, and maybe a 96 too. Just my opinion

Hey thanks for the replys everyone. However, I'm just going to get my 1993 signature fixed, which is pricey but insurance is paying for the whole thing. I'll post pictures once its done.
