54MarkWagon

I am a 67 yr old retired equipment operator who has dabbled in stock car racing off and on since the mid '70s. I purchased a wrecked '97 MarkVIII Base for the power train to put in my '54 Ford Ranchwagon. Thus the "MarkWagon" handle. I removed the entire orig. frame and floorpan from the '54 and striped the Mark down to its sub frame. The R/F corner of the Mark was wiped out and I found a '96 Tbird front suspension (coil springs) which I installed almost 4 inches further ahead to match the Ranchwagon wheelbase. That's where it's at now. My next step is to stiffen it all up with a roll cage and front loop. I have modified the Marks inner door panels to fit the '54 doors and need to narrow the Marks dash by about 3 inches on each end, basically sectioning out the AC vents. There are a ton of other fabrication details but that is the jest of the project. The 4.6 DOHC engine and trans will remain mostly stock but I am looking to put headers and dual exhaust under it. The rear air bags will also be swapped out for coil springs and weight jacks (there may be some autocross in its future). If the dash install works out I may also try to use the moon roof too. I just pray that when I plug all the wiring back together it fires up again. Anyway, that's the back story if you see me on here asking questions in the future. I've got some parts to sell and need to buy others. Long intro I know but.....
