I'm looking at a TC with 187K on it and I'm wondering if I should be worried about the mileage. I don't really think so, I would figure a modern engine like the 4.6 should be good for at least 300k. Also its got a new trans, new tires, the airrides been replaced with regular springs and its a 2 owner car with most service records included.

Most beautiful TC made. Last year for this style so the factory had ironed out any problems. that said, if the car was maintained properly, oil changes and transmission fluid changes it wouldn't have needed a new tranny. I'd take it to my mechanic and get it up on the lift and look it over before proceeding. P.S. brief your mechanic, if the owner is with you, to say something like, "I'd buy it, but I wouldn't pay a penney over "X" for it"

If the oil has been properly maintained/changed (can really now though), now new tranny (make sure it has the proper fluid) etc it should be ok.

I would be worried about other stuff though, bushings will need replaced, bal joinsts etc.

Do a compression test on the engine just to make sure...

I would get it inspected, check the upper manifold, and upper ball bearings, other that that, my tc has 178K on it and runs like a champ.

I bought one last April with 177k. Its has 188k on it now, just got back from a 600 mile trip to Az without a problem
