The grill on my Mark is peeling and I'm wondering if anyone has ever tried re chroming it.......It's plastic isn't it?......So would it cost too much to do?......Excellent grills are becoming hard to find so what are the options?......My name is Bruce Hansen and I'm a Senior Citizen who doesn't suffer fools.

My brother and I are soon going to start Chrome painting. It is very bright and very chrome looking, and it is very durable. plus you can paint just about anything. It appears it will cost about $15 a square foot. Maybe you could find someone in your area that does it to avoid shipping also.

Looks like Gen 2 grille prices have doubled in the last 4 years. Used to be able to get a great one for about $40 back in 2012. Still, you can get a nice one for far less than a Gen 1 grille. They're only about $5000 nowadays, no big deal.

Thanks for both of you for the reply's I'll check into the paint etc.......My name is Bruce Hansen and I'm a Senior Citizen who doesn't suffer fools:)

You can find a "re-chromer" in your area, it isn't as expensive as you think. It may be better to bring them a painted one, vs stripping the chrome off yours.
I think you should check craigslist or other classifieds first. I'm sure you will find one in decent shape. I know of a two in my area, one is black and the other is teal, both LSC models.
