'99 Conti...Yes or no?

While shopping for an '03-'04 LS8 for myself i happened across an incredibly clean '99 Continental that can be had for 7k. Thinking about it as a third (read backup) car.

I know nothing about them other than the 4.6 is reliable.

Thoughts, Information?

From what I have heard the 98 and up Conti's are the most reliable cars yet, I say go for it. They are gorgeous cars, I fI could afford one I would probably own one right now. Get it. It's a good deal at 7k, but of course you should talk them down on the price. :Beer

Didn't buy it, could have lived with the vinyl top (on a third car) but it was showing wear (otherwise pristine). It looked as though it was never properly cared for, which didn't bode well for the rest of the car. Loved the ride and features for the money, but it was a glaring flaw. I will keep my eye out for one just like it w/o the vinyl.

Well keep looking. I didn't had to for my conti. I actually went to look at a 96 red conti before buying mine. The power was good but everthing was broken and rattling the whole car. I was set to buy a car that day. When I was travling back to my house, I remember this dealer that always has lincolns(still does). So I decided to go there and found a 95 Lincoln cotinental.(mine) It was in such a good shape and had all the options that this car could propable have.(found this out after reading the Mannual). So just keep looking and you will find a good one.
