Hi All,
I could use help on an AC problem. The navi has two units front and
back. My back blows cold but the front is warm if I put the fan on
high. It is cool on the driver's side front if I keep the fan low. The system is fully charged
with coolant. I am told it is a blend actuator door which is a cheap
part(under 100) that is buried. The entire dash/airbags etc need to
come out for a cost of 1700. from a dealer. I read it may be something
as simple as the door being stuck in the heat position or a vacuum problem or the EATC unit itself. I do not trust the dealer and would like to get a second opinion. My mechanic had no idea what was wrong. Does anyone know if you can see it or access this door and try to pry it open without ripping the entire inside apart? I also read that some model Lincolns have an automatic EATC self test that will sometimes free the door, but when I use the sequence
nothing happens. Would the test be year/model specific? I swear sometimes if I use the auto start the air is cold but doesn't stay that way.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
TIA,
Macy
