here is a question I have had about my LS for over 5 years now. Ever since I bought it I have noticed if I turn the car off and take the key out and open the door before the car has actually stopped rolling the dome light will not come on. sometimes when I am in a hurry the car will be in neutral and clutch in and I'll roll into a parking spot turn off the car and get out just as the car is rolling to a stop pulling up the ebrake at the same time. kinda a slick move actually...I'll lock the car with the remote and the light will still not come on when I get back in it later on. Sometimes its hard to find the key hole in the dark...I'm sure its just some timing/logic thing with some programming code somewhere but has anyone else with a manual noticed this?

Ugh, you're that kind of person I roll my eyes at. Come whipping into a parking have the car shut off it seems and are out of it before its even parked lol. Just joking, but it is a pet peeve of mine.
That is strange it won't come on, it should if your door is opened or you unlock it to get back in. Have you taken to a place and asked why? Maybe a an issue w/ the door and the switch, wire loose maybe.

LOL I noticed that too When I roll up to the house I put it in N and shut the car off and the dome light does it too AUTOMATIC....If you think about it the car knows not to light up and draw attention its know your SNEAKING AROUND!!!!! LOL
sorry I could not help it 4:00am and I drove to homestead fl 4.5 hour drive took me 5 becuz of traffic to go see the nascar truck race and it got rain out and then I had to drive back to be at work in 3 hours....LOL Im no tgoing to sleep tonight...... O well

no what is happening is when you open the door to get out the lights inside dont come on....understand....

When mine does this it also automatically locks the doors. Have locked the keys in once with the engine running, put in nuetral, pull up the parking brake, hop out to do something, try and get back in and the doors are locked.
Happens every once and a while when getting gas (though then I have the keys in my hand) just surprised that the door is locked after pumping.
Is this only a problem with manuals or does it happen to automatics also.

yeah, one of my friends noticed that today actually, we stopped on highway 365 to have a smoke, i never smoke in the lincoln, and when we were getting back in she noticed that the door was locked and the red light wasnt blinking, so i didnt lock it, and its an auto
