A/C System Fill Port

Where is it?? I've only found one port, on the top of the canister on the front-left of the engine bay.

My A/C system isn't working at all, and I'm going to put a bottle of R-134A through it to check for leaks. Just need to find the fill port.

the low presure port is on the manifold tube that bolts to the compressor.looks like you have to pull the lower cover under the front end. high side is located on the receiver/dryer oin the pass. side radiator.good luck

Hate to be a bother with this, but can anyone pinpoint where it is?? I'm just not familiar with what I'm looking at under this car as of yet.

I did just put a new tail lamp and foglight in though (yaay). lol
 
im sure someone can help give you a pis with exact locations.i dont have a camra to take pics with.sorry but im gonna put that on my christmas list ,right next to a day off.

I hear ya man. I appreciate you getting me headed in the right direction. I have an idea of where it is but I don't want to go ripping things apart without KNOWING where it is, you know?
 
very important!!!!! are you sure it has a leak? before you go adding 134 you should invest in a guage for a/c systems. If the system is already full you risk blowing the compressor and possibly getting yourself hurt in the process.

Good point. It could be another problem, like a bad low-pressure switch. Other Fords are known to have this part go bad...including my other Ford. I bypassed it with a paperclip to test it. :)

Instructions please for checking this low pressure switch. :Beer

I have a gauge. Provided there was low pressure in the system was when I was going to run the bottle of R-134A through.

I tested mine by pulling off the connector and shorting it out(paper clip shorting the connector itself). If the A/C system works normally, than either you really do have a pressure problem and you told it to run anyway, or that switch is bad. On a Mustang it is on the drier assy. I am not sure on the LS. I looked at the service manual and the only thing I could find was what they call a pressure transducer. It doesn't show exactly where it is at. It looks like it is on one of the lines, so it might not be the same type of sensing setup that the Mustang uses.
 
Thank you ford. Common sense abounds. Instead of putting the low pressure port on a visible line, they tucked it up behind the DRIVER side tire immediately above/on the compressor. Have to remove the small cover that sits there, well, loosen and move out of the way at least.

The A/C system was dead nuts empty. Two cans of R-134A with oil conditioner and leak sealer later, line pressure is holding and A/C is blowing cold!!!

if it goes back to blowing hot , take a black light in the dark and find the leak. it will show up brite green.
