You do not have to "understand" Islam to understand what is being done in it's name. If these violent people don't represent Islam why are they supported by Islamic leaders and governments instead of being denounced?

And how dumb do you have to be to blow yourself up for some old geezer? If getting a buch of virtual virgins is such a big payoff, why hasn't that old geezer blown himself up? Why is it such a great thing for Islam to destroy its youth to further the aims of a bunch of socially malajusted old men? As a social institution Islam is a failure. It doesn't need any bending to make Islam look bad. I've said before, supposed "Chrisitans" who blow up abortion clinics cannot point anywhere in the Bible to support their arguments. Muslims who slaughter innocent people CAN point to somewhere in the Koran (Quran, whichever, alternate spellings I've seen), to support their arguments.

And regarding Jesus: Knowledge of how the Roman system of law and culture worked, would prevent any speculation that Jesus was switched with a guard (or that the guards were "asleep at their posts" allowing someone to steal Jesus' body, or that he wasn't dead on the cross, etc.) All secular and religious history clearly points to the fact that he died on the cross, and was resurrected on the 3rd day in direct fulfillment of the Messianic prophecy. His words ring true, that He is the only way to God. Not through my actions, not through anything else, only through His sacrifice.

Good Lord! That was 27 kinds of annoying, her voice could rend flesh from bone. Another thing, maybe I'm wrong, but Islamic Jihad's versus Jews is far rarer than Islamic Jihads over other religions/peoples; particularly Christians and their off-shoots. Consider the attacks on Israel versus the attacks around the entire planet, India, Philipines, Africa, all over Europe, America only has has a few, but consider the total loss of life on 9/11.

Actually, terrorism against America is a relatively recent phenomenon, and eerily coincides with our support of Israel. On the other hand, Israel has been the subject of attacks dating back to the Ottomans in the late 1800s.

Have you ever looked at a map of the middle east including Israel? Talk about being surrounded by enemies! It's similar to the rest of America declaring that New Jersey was going to be wiped off the map and New Jersey successfully defended itself.

It's interesting that your new criteria for the rarity of terror attacks is number of casualties. Does World War II count? Does the extermination of six million Jews by Hitler count?

Well you did say Israel right??? But as I stated, many peoples were subjugated under Ottoman rule during it's 600 year run. It fact, under it's most well known ruler Suleiman 'The Magnificent', the Ottoman navy was sent to Spain to transport and resque Muslim & Jews from the inquisition. The History Channel is great isn't it?

No, not excuse him, but condemning his anti-semetic actions while dismissing everyone else that fell dead under his reigh is dishonest and disrespectful of all others who died. That'd be like buidling a monument in honor of the 9/11 victims but only including the men and not the women.
