I bought my 1990 Lincoln Mark VII on eBay and there were a few things missing from the condition of the vehicle, but iam over that much. Now its just a matter of getting it back on the road legally and fixin a few electrical tweaks. The car came with a Flordia rebuildable salvage title (preveasly had flood damage, which was mentioned in the description.) I do have the electrical Ford manual and the Ford Shop manual for the car. They have helped very much:)! Right now iam in the middle of a vehicle inspection to eventually be issued a actual title for the car. So of course there were a few things that did not pass. My car is now at a Ford dealer gettin looked at, for prices on what I think are going to be a few relays and a switch or two. I pretty sure i will have the title within a few weeks. Sorry to bore any of you with my story but i figured this would help so there wouldn't be too much confusion.

Here are a few of my questions and they will probably be more to come:

What was the stock spare tire that came with my car? Was it a 16 wheel or was a it a dounut?(my car didnt come with a spare)
How would i go about reattaching my LSC-SE, Lincoln, and Mark VII exterior logos?
Iam looking for a power mirror switch...iam sure there are other models of Ford vehicles that had/have the same switch? Model/Year(s)?
I have anti-theft lug nut sets, but no key for the lug nuts! I called my local Ford dealer and they told me about a company called McGard (website www.mcgard.com) they make custom keys i was told. All iam suppose to do is send them a pic of my lug nut and they will send me the key to fit it. Don't know any prices but will find out eventually!
My compass/temp computer module doesn't work? Any suggestions?

I still have a few more little pieces missing, if anyone has a Mark VII parts car i will give them a list of the pieces i would like. Then give me a price.

Thats all for now...

Thanks, Lincoln lovers! : :smilies-3

In 1990, it was the ever loving Space Saver Spare.

Ask the dealer, but I'm almost certain that it's a rubber based product similar to Liquid Nails but is safe for painted surfaces and is water proof.

I've only used Mark VII switches. Ask Karl "LSC-SS".

Originally, this could be found attached by a spring clip to the knuckle buster tire iron which was attached to your scissor jack which was attached to your Space Saver Spare. Fourteen years later, look in the very BOTTOM of the rear driver's side fender well where the space saver spare was stored. Look in the THREE glove boxes for a BEIGE envelope or the key sitting loosely. Worst case scenario, I've used a BFH and vise grips.

Are they turned off by the two switches in front of them marked Temp and Comp? Are there any other accessories not illuminated (like ash trays)? The latter would cause me to check ALL the fuses.

Lincoln Lover? That's the first time I've read that. It's kind of catchy...

Thanks,

I will check my local Ford dealer and see what they have for a adhesive.

I'll talk to Karl about a switch

I don't have anything in my dounut compartment, I never had a jack or a lug nut key. I think i try and get a key from www.mcgard.com

My compass doesnt work period. I know its not the fuses because i just checked all of them when i got the car. How likely is it that the computer temp/comp. module is shot.

thanks again

You should be able to get a lug nut key at an auto parts store. Atleast that is where I seen them last. Then you will not have to deal with shipping costs.

Just go into your autoparts store and say you need a Ford Lug Nut Key. You might need a year of the car. I dunno. . .

If they are factory anti theft wheel locks, you can go to the dealer and they will remove them so you can get at the tires. All dealers have a master set of keys.

I think he is looking to buy one. Because it would suck having to go there every time just to take a tire off. Unless you were going to just put regular lug nuts on instead of the locks. . .

Exactly all i want is to take the anti-theft lug nuts off and put standard ones on!

I do have a near buy parts plus....

My local Ford dealer is small and i dont think it has those key sets u are talking about.

Now my car is at another Ford dealer about 40 miles away getting a few electrical things down with it. I think iam going to talk to them about it.

Any Ford dealer has to have the keys. How are they going to do your brakes or shock?

They expect you to have them with the car i would assume!

No, they all have a master set....... and you can go to any dealer to just get them removed, they shouldnt even charge you.

Any tire dealer will be able to remove them for you, they will have a special set of sockets to do so, you can also find a deep socket that just barely fits on the locking nut, tap in on with a hammer and use a ratchet to remove the lock.

The mirror switch is still available from Ford for around $33

Goodyear and Firestone dealers often have a special tool to remove them , just restating what LSC SS has just said............

I saw a similar kit, but more tools, and my local LM dealer a few weeks ago......

I bought that kit back in the early 90's when I was working at a shop full time, I'm sure the kits have gotten more advanced lately !!
