A Fistfull Of Gunpowder

Hi Guys

Well a lounge full actually but a "lounge full of gunpowder" didn't sound as snappy a title

Here in the U.K we have our fireworks on November 5th as a celebration of the failure of a chap called Guy Fawkes to blow up the Houses of Parlament in 1605. I think it would have been better to celebrate his succes but unfortunately he was discovered and subsequently hanged for his efforts

I have always liked fireworks and above is over 700 English pounds worth (about 1200 dollars) of the best Chinese gunpowder money can buy.

You are all invited to my firework bash held on Saturday 5th November in Weston-In-Gordano, there will be a huge fire, open bar, bar-b-que, music and of course lots of fireworks.

Directions;

From London Heathrow Airport follow signs for "The West Country M4"
Follow M4 west for approx 90 miles
At exit 20 head South on M5, signposted "The West Country"
Leave M5 at exit 19 and get into the right lane on off ramp.
Go all the way round the traffic circle and exit on the A369 to Portishead.
At the first traffic circle take the first exit onto the B3214 to Clevedon
Follow B3214 to Weston-In-Gordano and park in the White Hart (olde English pub) parking lot.
Fireworks are let off about 80yds down a small lane 20yds before the pub.

Anyone flying out from Newark, NJ to Bristol International Airport give me a call and I will send directions.

Yea....you should come over here on the 4th of July.......I make a trip to Missouri with 1,000 bucks and come home with a 1/2 ton truck FULL of stuff.

That reminds me of a funny story...

When I was on temporary duty at Incirlik, Turkey we (RAF and USAF) were all living in tent cities on the base there. Well, on the fourth of july we were all outside of our tents just drinkin some beer and having a good time when out comes this fella in a red shirt and black pants. He hollers out that he has been tasked with taking back the Americas in the name of the Queen(starting with our tents )and that all traitors of the Crown will all be mercilessly pelted with water balloons. So we all play along and start yelling back (trying our best not to laugh at this guy) when all of the sudden about 50 British Airman come from around a tent and start lobbing balloons our way. I think they dumped about 70 gallons of water on us. To make a long story short...without water ballons ourselves we couldn't put up much of a fight. So the ol' Union Jack flew over American territory once again. Later we all got piss drunk at the RAF pub.

To this day that is still some of the funniest sh!t I've ever seen... :biggrin:

Fireworks Rock! Have a good time Dereck but be safe, we don't want to hear that you lost an arm or somethin. Fireworks are pretty cheap around here, indiana has a lot of good deals, Krazy Kaplans a local Diare indiana store is selling them as buy one get 5 free. :Beer
