Driving my 93 MarkVIII today and the oil light comes on!!!! Stopped immediately and checked the oil. FULL!!! But still got the RED OIL light on the computer panel. Engine is not clicking, ticking or knocking like there was too low of oil pressure??? WHAT GIVES???? Could it be the oil pressure sending unit???? How do I test?????

that actually happened to me before, after I changed my oil. I ignored it because I knew how much oil I put in. Eventually it went away. Maybe there is some other way to solve it.

The red indicator light is for low oil pressure. If you feel lucky go ahead and drive on, but don't be supprised if Uncle Big Bill comes to visit.

You can check the oil pressure switch fairly easily for proper operation (or just replace it) and/or get your oil pressure checked, probably the best option if the light is on constantly or often.

Ok, Where is the oil pressure sending unit on a 93 w/4.6L DOHC and what does removal/install consist of?? Any quirks I need to know about?

i have an "oil temperature sensor error" message in my mark, so any info on replacing that would be appreciate as well :)

The oil pressure sensor is located in the oil filter adapter (where the oil filter screws on), tighten the sensor to 9-12 lb-ft when installing it. That's for a '96, the '93 should be the same.

Thanks guys, That is what the problem was. Also had a severely clogged oil filter too. Only had 2100 miles on that change too. Oh well, no more oil light and I am happy once again.

I thank you ALL again for your input and information. !!
