The youngest Mark VII you're going to find was made in 1992. That's twelve years ago. Since then, almost ALL of the rubber products on that car should have been replaced or lubricated. If not, you'll have to do that. Ford exhausts start falling apart after about ten years. Most people cannot get past the GLAMOR of a car to see it for what it really is ... a vehicle. If you see a potential car and the first words out of your mouth are, 'It's clean!", then you're screwed. Try, "let's go for a test drive."
You're buying a luxury car, a Lincoln Sporting Coupe. Tuned, we get 17-24 mpg. Tweaked we get 28 miles to the gallon. My last
parts car cost $300.00 (with no title, distributor, or compressor). My
show car cost $7,000.00 (with
12,600 miles on it). Expect to pay $750.00 to $2,000.00 for a decent daily driver that's received good to moderate maintenance.
Oh yeah, and come back to this thread everytime you look at one and let us know how you're making out!
