I totally agree that as a whole it isnt a good look. But they looked horrible before. I have 75,000 mostly highway miles on the car and they looked pretty beat up. I was planning on buying a brand new set so as an experiment i tried tried to wet sand with ultra fine sand paper and used a special lense cleaner and it did remove alot of the pitting and defects but left a crappy hazy look. So my two ideas were to either paint them to match the car or use some left over spray tint. Its not a look that i'll keep for long but i havent seen it done before so it gives a different look.
Here's a crazy story that happended last night to add to my list of horrible central florida driving. As i am driving home late last night i pull down my street and notice the second house at the end has a big party going on, lots of cars/people hanging around. I dont really care, my street is exactly 1/2 mile long...perfectly straight, i live at the opposite end. I pull into my driveway around 2 a.m. and as soon as i open my door and get out i hear three noises....1) Engine racing at WOT 2) Tires skidding 3) BOOM. I get back into my car and within the 8-10 seconds it took me to get down my street there is a white car upside down in some guys lawn against a power pole which is now cracked in half. The dude driving the car is already on his feet walking around WITHOUT a scratch on his body. NOTHING. He's all alone. All he kept saying is that his girlfriend was going to kill him now. I called 911 and the whole bit and waited till they all arrived and told the cop what all i heard and saw. During the daylight today you could see where he swerved to the left taking out the corner of a little old ladies chain link fence, skidded across the street, hit the pole and ended upside down. The guy who lived in that house was PISSED. Funny stuff.
