well parts have started arriving, this one was on an 8 foot skid and came by truck. parts for the chevelle are showing up and now the real work is gonna begin. so far both left and right rear wheel houses came, the rear under bumper valance, all new under rear seat floor pans, the new trunk floor and extentions, and the pass rear quarter, its a 100 % quarter too, not just a replacement panel, the whole thing lol its huge!! i started the front floor pans but mostly have them tacked in, i kinda didnt get to involved until i started getting more parts in, i didnt want to do anything twice. now i need to get busy!!

Wow you are going to be busy.
Did you ever consider getting the whole thing striped "bead blasted" before you started ?

no need to, everything will be replaced, the only thing that will still be original is the roof and doors lol!

LOL are you sure that car isnt from Minnesota. :p
Are the rear quarter panels all dented ?

nope its always been a florida car. the quarters arent dented, someone replaced 60% of them with replacement skins and didnt have a clue what they were doing. they have so much bondo on them from them missing the body lines completely.

Ahhh...makes sense now, the work you do now will make it easy to paint later

yes much easier, there is nothing worse then fixing something someone else didnt know how to do. these morons who owned it, put a brand new windshield in the car and pushed on it to seal it and cracked it in 4 spots lol. you can imagine what other treats they did to the car. thats why i cut the windshield out tonight and threw it away, tomorrow the back glass will get cut out and i will put that somewhere safe since its still good, but i have to remove it to get the quarter off since part of the channel is gonna be removed when i take the quarter off.

Ya, that rear quarter panel was badly done. In the first pic you can just make out a vertical line above the wheel arch - thats a join where the 2 pieces didn't meet up at all! they used Bondo to hide the step in the seam! Lol. Be good with all the new pieces - i look forward to getting my hands on it! :)
