So last night i was driving home on the highway and look in my rearview mirror to see a car riding my ass. I think nothing of it then he gets closer. so i tap my brakes and this bastard smashes into the back of me (2002 pathfinder). So I think hes gonna pull over to trade info but this fool takes off; i guess he didnt see the V8 badge. So I get on the phone with the police and am telling them what happened. So im following him and theres 2 other cars following him too. I thought it was his boys, but they were there to help me. They forced him in the slow lan. Me in back one of them in front and one to the side. We got him off and got him to stop. Then the cops come. These guys are drunk as hell and say theyre gonna call a cab. They keep telling me that they have cash and to have the police leave. I said no, after you tried to run, u want me to do u a favor. So then this guy pulls out money and says take this this shoudl cover it. I put the money in my pocket to talk to the cops. After i talk to the police and let them know what happened I pull the money out. This fckuer gave me 4 1 dollar bills. I almost beat this dudes ass. HE started crying, saying he was sorry. So i got a police report and all that. Guys were from out of state, kept trying to give me credit cards and IDs to get the police to leave. I wasnt goin for it. Anyways i got theyre info. and had the police run their ids to make sure it wasnt fake. They checked out. So im getting a new bumper and trunk. So any ideas. Should i get an lse bumper or what. Would that look bad without the whole kit. Im pissed

I had same thing happen on a main rd,, heating/ac truck riding me for like 5 bloks,, on a 1 lane st.

i kept tapping my breaks to get him off but didnt work,, so i slammed them and he rammed into me,, driver light, bumper and lil hood damage.

gets out whining about me giving him the REDS,, im like yea ur riddin me about 6 inches away for no damn reason,,lol

his ins covered it all,, just a pain to get it all delt with.

stik with the ls bumper,, unless ur goin with new front too. and try not to spend that 4$ all in one place,, lolol

So, let me get this straight - you were rear-ended by a guy, who was tailgating, after you slammed on your brakes. Whether they were drinking, or not, weren't you also in the wrong for causing the accident? Why would you intentionally wreck your car? I'm confused about what you were trying to accomplish. If I missed something in your story, please enlighten me.
 
I didnt slam my brakes i was tapping them. I put my flashers on, i got in the other lanes, this guy kept following me. I wasnt trying to wreck my car. I was trying to get him from following me. You never know what people are gonna do in this city. They followed me from a bad area towards my house. I wasnt gonna pull over on the highway. We were almost to a friends house. He was completely drunk, and couldnt judge distance. The 2 other cars also told the police that he was driving like a maniac. I did everything that I could to get him to stop riding so close. Not my problem this guy had too much to drink and couldnt drive.
 
V-8 LS > V6 Pathfiner. The little pedal on the right is for acceleration. I'm sure ou could have left him in the dust. In such a circumstance, if a cop would have radared/seen you, I don't/can't see a cop giving you a ticket, especially if you would have called the cops and told them what was going on.
 
I did gun it. then I would go back to the speed limit. The part of town I was going through isnt too nice to me. When I was little I got into alot of trouble and they dont like me soo much there. There was a cop right around the bend from where we pulled off. And im not trying to get a ticket.
Anyone else wanna put the blame on me for some jackass hitting me. Trust me I did everything to avoid it.
 
hey I'm not blaming you but I've been in that situation more than once. I've found the best option is to quickly pull over. then they go by and you go back to business as usual. problem w/brake checking (been there) as you can REALLY piss somebody off and wind up w/your ass kicked or dead. The rush of a good brake check is fun though :)

sorry daddy think ur gettin the slak for my post

yes your right that slamming my breaks caused an accident that was goin to happen anyway.

i was on amain st,, 1 lane up,, 1 lane down,, witha ford f350 with a huge trailer connected to it, this guy was kissin me end allready no way he woudl be able to stop in time regardless of what i did or didnt do,, so wether i tapped and turned he would of hit me,, so in the moment i chose to slam,,lol and take it from there.

after 5-6 bloks of this guy on me,, trying to go left and tryin to go right,,lol just stupid,, so hit the brakes, it sucked,, but f**** him

him and his buddy were all smiles,, until he hit me with a company truck,,lol trust me he wasnt laughing no more...:D
 
What did the police do to these guys? If they were cocked, didn't at least one of them get arrested? Multiple charges at least, reckless operation, DWI, hell I'd even charge them with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (their car). So what's the poop with them? Just an accident report with all those witnesses?

The accident happened in st. louis city and we got him to stop 5 miles later in a county area. So the county officers said the city wouldnt come out there cause it wasnt that big of a deal. And the county officers couldnt write a report cause it didnt happen in their area. So they got all the paper work done for us.
Right when the police came the guys said that they called a cab. The police didnt want to do any paperwork so they kle tem all go with no tickets or nothing. Kinda BS.
 
I have been contemplating taking a job near where you are. If that is how things go down in that area, maybe I should rethink my position.
 
Well atleast the car is sort of alright. I tell you if I get rear ended it better do alot lol, I want this thing written off if its going to wrecked.

I get alot of that here w/ people. Yesterday on my way back from work(sunday) I had a mercedes SUV on my ass and I was doing the normal 5 over. They kept coming up on me, move to the center alittle to say they wanted by than get back over. I also decided to check 'em but instead just kept my pace and waited to see if they'd try to pass than destroy them but they most of gotten the point that I was not intimadated by their :q:q:q:qty SUV(I hate them, ugly and nasty looking things) and backed off.

Last time I checked someone was awhile ago, one guy thought I did it to him and came up beside me in a parking lane and started hitting my window. I believe I posted about this incident on here, never checked him though but nailed the brakes cause of a car infront of me doing some weird sh!t.
