if i get 18X9.5 rims and an adapter to make it fit my car will i have a problem with it poking out to much. i might drop it later on will it poke out enough that it will rub. for some info i have an 01 sport and i want to put mercedes rims on. i think the bolt patter is 5x112. people put the rims on jags so i should be able to put them on my ls.
**the offset is 37

People jump off bridges, but you won't find me doing it too :) With a 37mm offset on a 9.5 wheel, they'd be sticking out about 1.5 inches past the stock location of the tire. My guess is those wheels would be right under the fender lip if not past it. Bolt patern for the LS is 5x108. Not sure there is enough slack around the wheel hub and and lug holes to make up the 4mm differnece in the bolt pattern.

Remember that the thickness of the adapter will be subtracted from the wheel offset. +37mm offset plus a 5mm adapter = +32 offset. Wheel will be 5mm closer to the wheel well edge with the adapter.

According to the offset calculator on 1010tires.com the new wheels you have will extend out about 48mm farther than stock which puts it right at the edge of the fender. You're definitely going to rub with that set up.

I've been having a problem with my 18"x8" OZ racing wheels since I installed the StopTech brake system. I needed about 8mm of clearance and had to buy hub-centric wheel spacers for all four wheels. This moved the wheel out about 20mm versus stock which is less than half of what yours did. I still have some rubbing on certain bumps and curves and I HATE it! I'm currently looking at newer wheels that will clear the brake system and give me the clearance I need. I've also dropped my LS about 1" with the Eibach springs.

i know my bolt pattern. 5x112 is the benz bolt pattern. i've seen these rims on s-type jags shouldn't it fit my car then. i might not drop it. my dad has a machine shop is there any way i could machine down the adapter to make it thinner. i'm 19 dont know much about this stuff but i really like these rims. and isn't there a black LS on 20x9.5 and his sticks out about an inch. i know hes on this forum i remember him talking about how they stick out but its not that bad.
