Ok as some of you know my wheel studs on the driver front wheel fell off and my wheel was hanging on by one stud and apparently it did some damage to abs unit or sensor because when I start my car, nothing is wrong, then about 10 miles into driving my ABS light comes on. Is this most likely an ABS sensor that got bent up or the entire ABS hub?

thanks,
scott

Sounds like it's toast. I am still trying to figure out how to pull the codes from my ABS. Mine pretty much behaves the same way as yours. The light comes on after driving a few feet or miles. Once in a while the ABS kicks on as well.

from what i have heard you need a special reader for abs not shure but
maybe that just a special computer for bleeding abs
i know that the best waY FOR ABS IS AT THE DEALSHIP
i hear alot of ppl that have bad problem after having there car abs fixed and dont have it done at the dealer i think that is just one thin the stealeship
is the place to go to
but hey that just my apinios hope it works out for you .

my conti does the same thing.

A 1995 Lincoln probably has its own ABS plug to connect to. I had a town car in my shop the other day and it had a plug under the hood for the computer dianostic connection, another in the trunk for the air ride suspension and another under the hood for abs. All the plugs were the same , the same connector from my scan tool connected to all three plugs ( one at a time ofcourse). You would need to purchase a manual to find out where your plug is...I don't think you can use self diagnostics to retrieve your codes..you will more than likely need a scanner. If you will email me tomorrow at immusicman@hotmail.com I will look it up on my software and be able to tell you where the plug is and what it takes to check it. Please include the year of your car and make. glad to help if I can.

the only time my abs light came on was when i did a burnout, and when the alternator went out... but that time, the whole computer made a light show for me :(

cant help ya out, sry
