alright i posted this before about the abs light - check traction control coming on in junction. Well i know i was supposed to check the wheel speed sensors. The day i was going to check them both lights went out. well anyways they have come back, went back off, and come back again. It seems that they only come on when its raining out. Any reasons this would happen? and what causes them to go back off?? when they come back on trac control works just fine? i dont think its the abs pump.. so any ideas? is it the sensors getting wet? and when they dry they work again?

I love how all the bull:q:q:q:q questions get tons of responses about effin targa tops this and maybe this maybe that sh^t but serious ones dont get one response. Maybe with enough bondo and duck tape all the wildest dreams can come true..

Water shouldn't affect the operation of the ABS sensors; they're magnetic.

Dirt and grease will mess with them.
My ABS light would activate on occasion. My front sensors were covered in dirt. The rear sensors on my car were covered in oil. I blame Jiffy Lube for that.

It doesn't take much time to clean them off. The rear sensors are right next to the differential. The fronts are near the front brake rotors.

A little Simple Green, and a garden hose should take care of it.

Gen 1 or Gen 2? (Please at least put that in your profile so we don't have to guess, sometimes it matters) Check and clean the electrical connectors on the wheel sensors and ABS pump. Use dielectric grease on them to help seal out water and corrosion. BTW, sometimes the people that can answer your questions may not check the board every day. No need to get upset because you don't get an immediate response!

gen 2 and im not mad no answers its just i see people post serious things, and no answer. Seems the b.s. is more important

BS no BS

If the lights only come on in the rain, you more than likely have a break in a wire leadint to one of the speed sensors. When it rains it more than like grounds out causing the lights to come on. Most electrical issues that only show up in wet conditions are cause bt bad connectors and or breaks in the insulation. Hope this helps

the ABS system is probably the least understood system in the whole car. Hence the lack of answers. I am only beginning to figure it out while trying to fix my own problem.

abs lights

OK there is a lot of guesses, but is there a procedure to identify the problem of the GEN 2 ABS and traction controil. It seems that a lot of peole have the problem and I assume about 100 guys have figured it out on their own cars and then went silent.
Whats the real deal here as obviosly mine is doing the light bar to
