What are the problems associated with my car storing a code for the passenger side crash sensor? If I were to get into a wreck, would the air bags go off or not? Just a little concerned in case someone hits me or something. My abs does not illuminate for more than a few seconds after starting. Any ideas?

I meant airbag light...........sorry. I've been studying way too much lately for finals.

it should only illuminate for a few seconds. shouldnt stay on. your manual has info on this.

if it STAYS on, then you could have a problem.

if the airbag light stays on - then likely the srs system has been disabled - so your airbag will not deploy if needed.

you may notice the it will 'flash' two sets of numbers - like three flashes, pause, two flashes - which is a dtc code of 32 - bad connection to steering wheel airbag. if you can notice the flashes - post them and I look them up for you.

one of the most common failures with the system is that the electrical connection under the driver's seat cimes loose or wears (since the seat moves back and forth alot). the sensor in your driver's seat checks to make sure your in the proper position to deploy the airbag, if the connection is messed up the airbag is disabled.
