Why am I not surprised? That ballot takes the cake.

I'm checking to make sure its real and nobody played with it. So I'm calm for now.

Ok, here it is.

The explanation I am getting is that the information booklet is sent out separate from the ballot so why would anyone take the ballot and place it next to the instructions? But isn't it just such a coincidence that the 6, 10, 12 and 14 on the ballot happen to line up next to the 6, 10, 2 and 4 on the instructions?

Why do we in this country hate the office of the President so much that we cannot show the proper respect for it? Shouldn't President Bush's name be 1st on the ballot? After all, he is the Incumbent. Why is he not 2nd on the Ballot if you want to do it alphabetically?

I want only 1 national ballot for President, separate from all the Congressional, State and local ballots. And I want a National Voter Registration Card.

We are losing our democracy folks. We are going to have more problems and more disputes about fraud in our election than Afganistan and Iraq will have in their elections combined! I see a civil war in our near future. Time to stock up on self-defense supplies. Man, Oh man, Oh man! Where does it end?

I know, I know. It's just me.

Bryan,

I know this appears insidious but couldn't it just be coincidence?

Why don't we have a system to vet the truth in elections?

I know you think the UN is ineffective but I would certainly welcome some indepedent body to oversee our elections. I would agree that voter fraud is a huge threat to our Democracy.

I would also agree that the incumbant should get top billing, regardless what I think of them.

The order of the candidates and the numbers chosen to represent them give me pause. So no, I do not think it was unintentional or coincidental. What it demonstrates is that we as a country are becoming so divided ideologically that some of us are willing to do whatever it takes to win, no matter how unsavory those actions need to be in order to achieve the preferred results.

Bryan,
Think you and everyone else here would get a better view of the "picture" if you read the "Desparate Measures" thread .

Ran it by my accountant.

I'll settle for a voter registration card with magnetic identity strip coded to a valid S.S. number. Mastercard or Visa can run it (American Express gets too high a fee) with one Democratic lawyer and one Republican lawyer to oversee it to keep expenses to a minimum.

Even better, you have to pay $10 to place the vote, with that money going to the US Treasury. That would be approximately $1 billion that would go to pay down the debt each year.

Pay to vote, eh? I'll have to chew on that one.

The whole SS # issue is a touchy one around here because of a case of identity theft. Since voting falls under the Secretary of State they would be able to tie voting registration cards to drivers licenses or state ID cards.

We are headed down a slippery slope the way we are going so I am just tossing out ideas. We can't be doing this suing stuff every election. We need a different solution.
