AC control lights out

Some of the butons on my AC controls wont light up. Then when I least expect it they will light up and all will be well for a while. It is so agrivating. Has anyone ever experienced this? What is the fix?

yeah, my temp up and down and outside temp lights cut out on me tonight, but then they came back on when i stuck it in reverse...im just gonna leave it alone, and hope its all good

How do you check a loose ground? It's just one connection in back.

check the bulb they can work loose.

I haven't looked at these, but it may be the contacts are oxidised, there should be a couple copper contacts, maybe some contact cleaner spray, or slightly burnish them with a pencil eraser, they may need to be bent slightly for more tension, I don't know if that would be fesible on these, as I'm not at all familiar with them, but they need a current path...
